Online Foreign Language Learning in Higher Education and Its Correlates during the COVID-19 Pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning of foreign languages at higher education level has represented a way to adapt restrictions imposed worldwide. The aim present article is analyse university students’ behaviours, emotions and perceptions associated language during pandemic their correlates by using mixed approach. research used Foreign Language Enjoyment (FLE) scale tools developed authors, focusing on task value, self-perceived proficiency, stressors responses in pandemic. Some results, such as negative association between anxiety FLE, are consistent with those revealed studies conducted normal times. Other results novel, protective role retrospective enjoyment trying times or lower-achieving students. Reference made preferences for certain resources (e.g., preference PowerPoint presentations) opinions regarding use entirely partially teaching post-COVID period. quantitative fostered respondents’ voices qualitative research. consequences these discussed respect teacher-student relationship environment implications sustainable learning.
